 What's with the fog?
« Thread Started on Nov 8, 2008, 3:43pm »

Ozma stumbled out of the thick purple fog and shook his head as if to clear it. What the....how the heck had he ended up here? This place was so...wierd. Why on earth was there a random altar sitting in the middle of a huge planet full of purple fog?

"Man...this is trippy..." he muttered. Looking about him he took in the many statues and the two large portals, his long neck twisting about so that he could take everything in. Despite the wierdness of it all, the place was quite interesting. He'd nevr seen anything like this on Dracostar. Trotting further into the altar area he walked along the statues, looking at each in turn until he came upon Piccadily. Now this was interesting.
"Huh, a green dragon. This one looks pretty cool actually," he said, tilting his head to the side. He stretched his neck up to level his face with Piccadily's and looked the statue in the eye.
"It's so...life-like. Whoever made these things must be one heck of an artist." His tail swished about behind him as if it had a life of it's own and he flexed his sharp claws lightly, scratching out a light saprano tone on the stone floor.

"I like to think I'm lifelike, thanks!" said Piccadilly brightly, not at all put off by the fact this Doeron thought he wasn't a living creature. "That's three times someone's approached me today..." the statue turned to face the red dragon nearby. "...and zero times for you, Holborn!"

The red dragon grumbled darkly to himself, not acknowledging the cheerfulness of his "brother" and that it was all in jest. "Maybe if you didn't have music coming off of yourself, people would ignore you more."

"Anyways! What can I do for you?"

Allegro Presto!

The bass is loud. It's impossible to hear it.

Ozma gave a startled yelp and stumbled backwards at Piccadilly's sudden answer. How the heck was the statue talking to him? He watched the exchange between the red and green dragons and a light grin touched his jaws. Ok, no this was trippy.
"Woah, I was not expecting this," he said, lifting his head to look at Picadilly again. "I wonder how this works...do you run on batteries or magic of some kind?" He asked, tapping Piccadilly's arm with great interest. Then, as if he had only just heard the dragon's question, he snapped his head up.
"Oh right. Uh, well I'm not really sure how I got here actually," he muttered scratching at his underbelly thoughtfully. "But either way I need to get a move on. I'm heading out on an adventure and I have no idea how to get started." He chuckled awkwardly and shrugged lightly, feeling rather foolish.

Not at all deterred by being regarded as an inanimate object, the green dragon began to launch into a quick explanation that had probably been recited numerous times to other clueless visitors. "Well, you see-"

"If he runs on batteries, tell me where his off switch is," said Holborn loudly, drowning out Piccadilly's helpful advice. His tone implied that if he had eyes that could move, he'd be rolling them in contempt at the Doeron's ignorance. "Really, do you have any idea where you are? This is Arplakoon. You're in the presence of beings only second to the Fantasticas themselves!"

A blue sunflower-patterned salamander slid over to join in on the conversation. "And the Acitnaf. You can't forget the Acitnaf, Holborn."

The rebutted dragon muttered something that only the lizard, Ar, could have heard. In response, Ar lowly growled and the two started bickering. None of what they were saying was clear or coherent enough to understand, given both were murmuring or even switched languages in the middle of a sentence. How peculiar.

"ANYWAYS!" yelled Piccadilly over the argument. "Like Holborn said, you're at Arplakoon. Here, we can give you a monster partner, some spells, and a Chrono Ring, which can prevent you from dying if you get into a fight... among other things. Interested?"

Fascinated with the argument going on between the various statues, Ozma almost missed Piccadilly's question. Jumping slightly and turning swiftly to look at the dragon he tilted his head slightly and his expression became pensieve. So this was where you came to start your journey? What were the odds of randomly stumbling upon this place in the middle of a giant fog field that he didn't even know how he'd gotten into in the first place. Shrugging lightly at the fact that, despite it being unlikely, he had gotten here by accident, Ozma grinned slightly at Piccadilly.

"Sure, sounds like it could be fun. Besides, having a Chrono Ring could be helpful with, you know, not getting killed."

"Well, that's kind of all it's good for unless you upgrade it," admitted Piccadilly. "Anyway, we also offer a huge variety of monsters here."

Holborn looked away from his battle with Ar. "You mean three."

The monsters the two dragons spoke of appeared in front of Ozma, as if from nowhere. Well, it probably was from nowhere. All of them were quite small in comparison to the Doeron, especially considering their young age. The Feuzard simply stared at Ozma, whereas the Poixon contentedly splashed about in a small puddle that had materialized with it. The Mobou, meanwhile... kind of just entertained itself by reforming its arm over and over again, each time creating a new arm for itself.

"And we offer weapons, too! They're good to have, even if you don't think you'd need one. Like... you could sell them."

Cheap-looking weapons appeared mid-air, only to fall to the ground with a loud clatter. It was a wonder they didn't break. A bad sword, a bad staff, and bad knuckles. How was anyone supposed to kill something with these?

"Ah, yeah. We can slightly modify these weapons to make them usable by you, if you want. Like we could give the sword a different hilt so... your tail or something could hold it," said Piccadilly. "Anyways, take your pick!"

<lol holy crud it's been ages since i've been able to come online. Yay for sneaking onto the net XD>
Ozma eyed the monsters as they appeared before him. None of them really suited his style. He prefered the bigger, wilder monsters to little things like these.
"Hmmm...I think I'll pass on the monsters thanks. Maybe I'll catch some later." He gave a nervous grin and moved away from the tiny creatures, looking instead at the scrolls. Even though he saw himself as more of a physical fighter he knew that magic could come in very handy when you're in a tight spot. Stretching out his long tail he gathered the scrolls up and tucked them away under his folded wings. Finally he moved on to the terrible looking weapons. He didn't need knuckles, not when he had such long, sharp claws. The staff wouldn't be much help either since he'd probably just snap it, if he could even manage to hold it probably. This left only the modified sword. Even though he wouldn't use it, picaddily made a good point. He could sell it or something like that. Lifting this with his tail too, he held it a off the ground and turned back to Picaddily and grinned.
"Thanks for the help. Is there anything else i should know?"
